Jordan MacRae (b. 1996, Paisley) is a Glasgow based artist-filmmaker working with analog technology to create moving image and sound work, often centered on loops, repetition, and chance.
Originally training in filmmaking, Jordan has worked freelance through-out the UK and internationally, directing music promos for Warner Music talent and shooting documentaries worldwide. Previously, he worked for a London based production company on travel and humanitarian films.
In addition to filmmaking, Jordan produces music under aliases Frederikke Hanne and moderplusone.
His work as a musician utilises tape loops, samples, and granular synthesis, moving between digital and analog through re-recording techniques and speaker manipulation.
His work has been featured in Cinéma du Réel, Aesthetica, Dazed, Sonica, Glasgow International and Gstaad, where he won Young Filmmaker of the Festival.
